The Steakhouse Restaurant and Retail Village is a collection of small pedestrian-scaled vernacular structures accented with trellises and porches. The buildings are connected by an enhanced meandering hardscape of different materials and lush landscape tying into the fabric and circulation of the surrounding neighborhood. Fenestration, detailing, a variety of materials, and lighting are all designed seamlessly together to provoke the feeling and impression of a historic, quaint, and timeless experience.

The Garré Winery Event Center is a major addition to the campus of the Garré Winery at the corner of Tesla Road and Greenville Road, Livermore, CA. The center will provide a dining room and banquet facility to the tasting room, cafe and other amenities already found at the winery. The site area is approximately 1.9 acres within a property of 22 acres with pathways through the vineyard connecting the new facility to existing facilities. Site engineering involves grading and drainage including balanced earthwork, truck maneuvering studies, frontage traffic improvements, and utility connections. The largest challenge proved to be minimizing the visual and cost impacts of meeting rural area fire protection requirements. The event center is to be located between vineyards in an area surrounded by lands that have been dedicated to the Tri-valley Conservancy as perpetual agricultural easement. Site work proposes to maximize infiltration by using permeable surfaces wherever possible, and directing runoff to the surrounding vineyard areas with no direct connections to a storm drain system. Landscape irrigation will be minimized by incorporating the vineyard environment into the atmosphere of the center, with only accent landscaping being added. Construction materials such as pavement base rock and aggregates will consist primarily of recycled materials.
